MedSpa

What is medical grade skincare?

Medical grade skin care involves using products medically formulated through research to achieve improvement in skin texture and tone.

Why are medical grade skin care products better than over-the-counter products?

Medical grade products have ingredients or concentrations of ingredients that are beyond what are allowed in over-the-counter products.

Aesthetics

What is an aesthetician?

An aesthetician is someone who has undergone special training in the beatification of the skin. They are skilled in skin analysis and can design expert treatment programs that can make significant improvements in the overall look and health of the skin. They also perform procedures such as peels, facials, and microdermabrasion.

Why should I have an aesthetician design a skin care program for me?

There are thousands of over-the-counter products deftly marketed to consumers and sold at seemingly high-end stores. The choices can be overwhelming, not to mention expensive. An aesthetician can evaluate your skin and design a skin care program using products specifically designed to treat your particular type of skin. An aesthetician takes the guess work out of skin care.

Are these products expensive?

Generally, medical grade skin care products do not cost much, if any, more than fancy products sold at big department stores. The difference in effectiveness, however, can be dramatic. Also, consider the value of a custom designed skin care program that eliminates wasting money on products that are less effective or not appropriate for your skin in the first place.

Microdermabrasion

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a quick, non-invasive procedure used to resurface the skin. It is one of the easiest and most effective anti-aging treatments you can get. Its benefits are many including softening fine lines and wrinkles, helping to smooth coarsely textured skin, decreases the appearance of scarring and reduces superficial hyper-pigmentation, also known as age spots. Microdermabrasion also makes it easier for professional skin care products to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin and help build collagen, which gives skin its youthful appearance.

Dermaplane

What is a Dermaplane?

Dermaplane is a safe, non-invasive treatment which uses a special tool at a forty-five degree angle and stroked along the skin, while holding the skin taut to remove vellus hair as well as dead skin cells. This treatment does not require downtime and will effectively smooth acne scars and give you the smoothest possible skin.

What are the benefits of having a dermaplane?

  • Promotes smoother, healthier skin
  • Removes vellus hair that traps dirt and oil.
  • Dermaplanning enhances the effectiveness of skin care products by allowing for deeper product penetration.
  • Reduces the apprearnace of acne scars
  • Reduces the appreance of fine lines
  • Produces immediate results with no downtime

Circadia Professional Skin Care by Dr.Pugliese

The name Circadia is translated from the Latin words “circa dia” meaning “around the day”. Circadian rhythms are life’s 24-hour cycles influenced by the earth’s rotation around the sun. The products developed by Circadia are designed to work in harmony with the body’s natural systems to defend the skin from environmental insult during the day, and repair during the night.

Enzyme Treatment

What is an Enzyme Treatment?

In skin care, enzymes function as a gentle alterative to chemical peels. Enzymes are proteins which act as catalysts in the body. An effective enzyme treatment safely brings immediate radiance and clarify to the skin by helping to release dead skin cells and surface debris. Enzyme treatments may be performed on all skin types, either alone or as part of a comphrehensive program.

Circadia blends three different types of enzymes in each product, bromelain, papain and trypsin into our Cocoa, Raspberry and citrus Zymase treatments. This ensures a safe, uniform exoliating treatment proving multiple benefits, without redness or flaking.

Bromelain is derived from pineapple and is an effective anti-inflammatory and keratolytic agent to release cellular build-up. Papain is derived from papaya and acts to dissolve the keratin protein found in the cells of the stratum corneum, the outer layer of the skin. Trypsin helps digest specific proteins that "glue" dead skin cells together.

Circadia enzymes may be used as the exfoliating portion of a deep-pore cleansing facial in conjunction with other treatments. each provides a refreshingly fragrant sensory experience for the client as well as luminous, healthy glow to the complexion.

What is an Oxygen Treatment?

The procedure is quick, easy and pleasant. The end result is clear and luminous skin with a feeling of firmness. Can be repeated as often as once a week (oxygen only). • What is the SWiCH Dermal Rejuvenation System?

A scientific breakthrough that helps enhance mitochondrial function and restores skins youthful appearance. SWiCH™ Dermal Rejuvenation System gives the skincare practitioner a treatment that performs beyond the results achievable with non-surgical peels.

SWiCH™ Treatment by Circadia

The Philosophy behind SWiCH™

For over 40 years chemical peeling has been practiced by physicians to rejuvenate sun damaged skin. Both intrinsic and extrinsic aging changes have been the object of many types of skin peeling including chemical, mechanical and thermal modalities. The common thread tying these methods together is the ability of the skin to heal itself when damaged. All of these methods produce some degree of tissue destruction, which incites the natural repair process within the skin. Consistent damage to the epidermis, however, may lead to more serious side effects. In a dermal system that is already overtaxed, the use of these agents creates a greater demand on energy production.

With the SWiCH™ System, it is now possible to achieve repair of the skin without having to induce tissue damage. The body’s repair systems, including that in the skin, are held in a ready state at all times. Understanding what is needed to trigger the system is the key to the efficacy of the SWiCH™ System.

Any repair system requires a large input of energy. Biologically this is in the form of adenosine triphosphate, or ATP. This energy source is generated by a natural cycle as part of the metabolism of food. For the SWiCH™ system to be effective the active ingredients must penetrate into the skin. Next, the repair mechanism must be switched on and the energy supplied – just as you flip a light switch to supply electrical energy to a bulb. The three parts of the SWiCH™ System are (1) effect penetration, (2) generate energy and (3) turn on the repair system.
