The world's first hybrid fractional laser is available on the Sciton JOULE laser system with the Halo application at Commonwealth Facial Plastic Surgery in Richmond. Using both a 1470 and 2940 nm laser for either ablative or non-ablative treatments, the Halo application adapts to the laser skin resurfacing needs of the patient. Halo laser treatments are performed in our office as an outpatient procedure with the patient under no or local anesthesia. The patient’s eye will be protected as the laser wand is passed over the face, neck, chest, and/or hands. After the treatment, a protective ointment will be applied to the skin before the patient leaves to recover at home.
What to Expect
Patients may see redness and peeling for 1 – 2 weeks after their treatment as the skin forms a scab and begins to heal. In 2 – 8 weeks after the procedure, the patient should be able to wear makeup to camouflage their skin. Patients should use sun protection at all times after their treatment and limit direct sun exposure as much as possible. Patients should talk to a team member about when to schedule touch-up appointments and creating a good home skin care routine.
