34 Procedures ( View All )

Overview

The world's first hybrid fractional laser is available on the Sciton JOULE laser system with the Halo application at Commonwealth Facial Plastic Surgery in Richmond. Using both a 1470 and 2940 nm laser for either ablative or non-ablative treatments, the Halo application adapts to the laser skin resurfacing needs of the patient. Whether patients visit with minor damage and the desire to refresh their skin or they want to undo years of environmental damages to the complexion from sun exposure and smoking, Dr. Matthew Bridges and his team will create a unique Halo treatment plan. Some of the most common skin blemishes and concerns corrected by the Halo application are:

  • Fine lines
  • Enlarged pores
  • Rough skin texture
  • *Scars (*only with full face resurfacing revision, results may vary)
  • Uneven skin tone

Procedure Information

Halo laser treatments are performed in our office as an outpatient procedure with the patient under no or local anesthesia. The patient’s eye will be protected as the laser wand is passed over the face, neck, chest, and/or hands. After the treatment, a protective ointment will be applied to the skin before the patient leaves to recover at home.

What to Expect

Patients may see redness and peeling for 1 – 2 weeks after their treatment as the skin forms a scab and begins to heal. In 2 – 8 weeks after the procedure, the patient should be able to wear makeup to camouflage their skin. Patients should use sun protection at all times after their treatment and limit direct sun exposure as much as possible. Patients should talk to a team member about when to schedule touch-up appointments and creating a good home skin care routine.

Meet HALO

The Hybrid Fractional Laser

What it is

Breathtaking Results. Award-Winning Technology.

HALO is the world’s only Hybrid Fractional Laser that delivers a non-ablative and an ablative wavelength simultaneously to the same microscopic treatment zone.

HALO combines these two wavelengths to create a strong synergistic effect, resulting in unmatched improvement in the visible signs of skin aging, including fine line and wrinkles, discoloration, the appearance of pores, and acne scars. Ablative wavelengths target and treat the skin for surface-level conditions such as textural issues and pore size. By creating small thermal injuries in the skin, this kickstarts production of new, healthy skin for visible results in a short period of time.

The non-ablative wavelength targets deeper sun damage and other dermal pigmentary issues. Together, these wavelengths provide both short-term results and long-term benefits to a wide variety of patients.
