Also known as chemexfoliation, derma peeling or skin resurfacing, this procedure applies a chemical solution to the top layers of the skin, which works to peel away and destroy damaged or dead cells. Through this peeling process, a rejuvenated layer of skin is left behind. Chemical peels can be used on the face or neck to help improve fine lines, acne scars, uneven skin tone, sun spots, freckles, pigmentation, and rough or scaly patches. The ZO 3-Step Peel from ZO Skin Health is a prescription level chemical peel that treats many skin concerns including acne, melasma, sun damage, fine lines, rough skin texture, large pores, and dullness. The 3-Step process provides deeper improvements than other peels with minimal peeling and downtime. The ZO chemical peel is safe to use on all skin types and tones and may be repeated every 3 – 4 weeks for more dramatic results.

Circadia’s Jessner Peel is best for patients with light skin pigmentation. Jessner treats skin concerns such as acne, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation.

MandeliClear Peel System from Circadia is a safe, gentle peel with a Vitamin A accelerator. MandeliClear is best for patients with darker skin pigmentation and any skin type. MandeliClear is often used to lighten hyperpigmentation concerns, including acne scars, melasma, and photodamage.

By utilizing a one-of-a-kind mixture of exfoliating ingredients, the Red Carpet Peel is able to leave patients' skin looking refreshed and revitalized. It's typically thought of as a light peel that can provide stunning results for any skin type with absolutely no downtime. For even greater results, many of our patients choose to combine this peel with a dermaplaning session.

If you've started to notice any roughness, dullness, or pigmentation in your skin, a Universal Peel may be just the choice for you. Though it is a medium peel, it is gentle enough that we often recommend it to patients of all skin types who have never undergone a chemical peel before. After the treatment, there will usually be about 2 – 5 days of flaking from the skin before the results become visible. This is another peel that is often combined with dermaplaning in order to have even greater control of the results.

As with the Universal Peel, the Intermediate Peel is often recommended for rough, dull, and/or pigmented skin. However, this is a much more intense peel that we usually only recommend to patients with experience receiving chemical peels. It is only suitable for skin types I, II, and III and will usually cause skin shedding for about 5 – 7 days after the treatment.

As one of our deepest options in terms of peels, the Advanced Peel is able to offer amazing results for patients who don't mind experiencing about 5 – 10 days of shedding skin. It can be used to drastically enhance the skin, texture, and tone, as well as alleviate the most noticeable imperfections in the skin. This peel should only be used by patients with a great amount of experience with chemical peels who have a skin type of I, II, or III.

The process for applying a chemical peel is generally the same for each type, but will vary slightly depending on the level of solution being applied. Anesthesia is not used during this procedure. First, the face is thoroughly cleaned. Then, the chemical agent is then brushed on to the skin. Patients will experience some mild stinging at this time. Patients will need to wear sunscreen and limit sun exposure as much as possible.

It is incredibly important to keep in mind that all skin types are different. Different skin types and regimens — both before and after the peel — will make a difference in how the skin reactions and heals. Not all patients peel, and not all patients will peel in the same way . Our chemical peels are traditionally recommended in a series of 3-6 treatments, spaced around a month apart. A chemical peel does not hurt. However, it may cause some discomfort. Most patients will feel tingling and a slight burning sensation, which will subside shortly after the procedure has been completed.
