Are you annoyed by unwanted hair? At our clinic, Matthew Bridges, MD, FACS, can help you get rid of that pesky hair with a non-invasive medical procedure known as laser hair removal. This transformative treatment is one of the most common procedures performed in our office.
How Laser Hair Removal Works
Laser hair removal in Richmond works by focusing a highly concentrated beam of light on active hair follicles in the area where you're looking to eliminate unwanted hair. The light heats and damages the follicles in an effort to delay hair growth temporarily.
In many cases, you may need to undergo four to eight laser hair removal treatments to achieve the desired results, followed by periodic maintenance treatments. Each procedure lasts about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Ideally, treatments result in regrown hair that's lighter in color and finer, with fewer shafts of hair.
