About Pocahontas State Park
Pocahontas State Park is over 7,000 acres protected nature just 20 miles south of Richmond and open to the public year round. Visitors can explore over 52 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. During the day, guests can swim, fish, and boat in 1 of the 3 lakes. Guests can rent rowboats, paddleboats, kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes from the park boathouse. In the summer, The Aquatic Center has water activities for all ages, including several pools and 2 water slides. Overnight camping is available for guests who are willing to rough it.
